In Kansas, the most people would say about the weather at any given time was "It's friggin' HOT!" or "It's friggin' COLD!" depending on which season we were in. Nothing special ever happened, it was either hot or cold. Okay, maybe a few perfect days were here and there (in October), but I don't remember folks going "It's been____ long since it's been ____(insert extreme weather here)___." Hot or cold. Summer/Fall or Winter/Spring.
Out here in Alaska It's been raining on the snow for two days. You either learn to fall or you learn to skate (or in smart peoples' opinions, you get shoe spikes). Every where I go I hear "This is the worst winter in years". I remember shovelling three feet of snow off of the vans when I worked for Avis, four years ago. Last year, everybody said the same thing "This is the worst...yada yada yada." Do these people have that bad a time remembering?
I, for one, think this is freaking awesome. I got tired of 60 degree Decembers. We definitely could have gotten some good amateur igloo making out of this weather.
